The launch of the Azoria Tesla Convexity exchange-traded fund (ETF) has been postponed, following Tesla CEO Elon Musk's announcement of forming a new US political party, the "America Party."

Azoria Partners, the investment firm behind the ETF, made the decision to delay the launch in order to reassess the situation, citing concerns about Musk's political ambitions and their compatibility with his role as Tesla's CEO.

Azoria CEO James Fishback expressed that Musk's announcement has shaken investor confidence in Tesla’s future, which contributed to the decision to delay the ETF launch. Fishback suggested that the Azoria board needed to meet urgently to seek clarification from Musk on his political involvement and its impact on Tesla.

The Azoria 500 Meritocracy ETF, another offering from Azoria Partners, does not invest in companies with diversity, equity, and inclusion hiring targets. However, the postponed Azoria Tesla ETF was set to invest in shares and options of Tesla, the electric vehicle company.

Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding Musk's political ambitions. Elon Musk himself has been vocal about his opposition to the tax-cut and spending bill signed into law by US President Donald Trump, while Fishback expressed his support for Trump in his posts.

Fishback has also been critical of Musk's new party, posting critical comments about the new party on the same social media platform where the America Party was formed. He has called for an immediate meeting with Musk to discuss his political ambitions.

It is currently unclear when the Azoria Tesla ETF will be listed, as the investment firm is still evaluating the situation. The postponement follows a series of unexpected events, and investors will be closely watching developments regarding both the ETF and Musk's political ambitions.
