Suspect in Tennessee Family Murders Captured After Manhunt

Austin Robert Drummond, the suspect in the tragic killings of four family members in Lake County, Tennessee, has been apprehended following a week-long manhunt. Drummond was taken into custody in Jackson, Tennessee, on August 5, 2025, after multiple reported sightings.

The victims of the heinous crime were 38-year-old Cortney Rose, her children 20-year-old Adrianna Williams and 15-year-old Braydon Williams, and Adrianna Williams' boyfriend, 21-year-old James "Michael" Wilson. The killings, which occurred in Lake County, were not random, and investigators believe Drummond knew the victims.

Authorities have been asking for surveillance footage from the Burnt Mill Road area for Tuesday morning, related to Drummond or the truck linked to him. The 1988 white Ford pickup truck was found in Dyer County, while the TBI found Drummond's white 2016 Audi in Jackson, Tennessee.

Drummond now faces multiple severe charges including four counts of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, possession of firearms during the commission of felonies, and other related charges. Two men, Tanaka Brown and Giovante Thomas, have been arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and related charges.

Tanaka Brown was also charged with one count of evidence tampering. He is being held without bond in the Lake County Jail, while Thomas was already being held at another jail on an unrelated charge and will be sent to Lake County Jail to be arraigned on the new charge.

A baby, believed to be Adrianna Williams' child, was found alive at the scene in a car seat in a "random individual's front yard" in nearby Dyer County.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is urging anyone with information to call 1-800-TBI-FIND. The investigation into the details of the murders and the baby's survival continues.
