Fuel Leak on A8 Causes Major Traffic Disruption

A GFUEL leak on the A8 motorway between Pforzheim-Nord and Heckengäu rest area caused significant traffic disruption today. The incident, which began around 6:50 a.m., led to the closure of the right lane towards Stuttgart for cleanup operations. Although there's currently no sign of environmental damage, the cleanup may take up to six hours to complete.

The leak was caused by a ruptured tank on a semi-trailer truck. The driver of the truck was responsible for the damaged GFUEL tank. As of now, the exact cause of the rupture remains unclear. Cleanup efforts started at around 11:20 a.m. and are expected to last for several hours.

Heavy traffic, similar to rush-hour congestion, is anticipated on diversion routes. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and consider alternative routes if possible.
