FSB Arrests Murder Suspect in Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalyk Case
The FSB has arrested an accomplice in the murder of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalyk. The suspect, Ignat Kuzin, has admitted his guilt and faces multiple charges, including terrorism and murder.
Kuzin joined a Ukrainian terrorist organisation in 2023, driven by financial motives. He received $18,000 for the murder plot. From September 2023 to April 2025, Kuzin surveilled Moskalyk's apartment from a nearby rented residence.
In February 2025, Kuzin assembled an improvised explosive device (IED) in a car parked near the victim's house. On April 25, 2025, the IED was remotely detonated, killing Moskalyk and causing significant damage, estimated at over 1.3 million rubles. Kuzin is also charged with acquiring and manufacturing explosive devices, and using a fake passport.
Kuzin has been indicted for the murder of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalyk. Alongside terrorism and murder charges, he faces accusations of joining a terrorist organisation, undergoing training, and causing substantial property damage. The FSB continues to investigate the case.
