Frustration-Fueled Pahalgam Incident Prompts PM Modi's Vow of Severe Action Against Terrorism

In an outpouring of grief, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep sorrow over the horrific Pahalgam terror attack that took place on Sunday, leaving at least 26 innocent lives, predominantly tourists, in ruins. Distraught families will receive justice, Modi promised, as the vile architects and perpetrators of this despicable incident are sure to face merciless retribution.

On Sunday's 'Mann Ki Baat', the Prime Minister expanded on the tragedy, noting that as peace was gradually returning to Kashmir, cowardly terrorists hatched a vile plot to derail the valley's revitalization.

"Today's attack in Pahalgam unveils the desperation of those who propagate terrorism...When tranquility was about to return to Kashmir, our enemies and J&K did not appreciate it. Terrorists and their masters aim to demolish Kashmir once more. That's why such an audacious plan was concocted. This crusade against terrorism, our unity as a nation is our greatest strength...We must bolster our resolve to confront this menace," PM Modi asserted.

During the broadcast, the PM also acknowledged worldwide support against the heinous terror attack, stating that global leaders had reached out with condolences and condemnation.

“World leaders have made contact, sent letters, and sent messages. They have all made strong statements against this heinous terrorist attack... The entire world stands united with India in the struggle against terrorism. Let me assure the bereaved families that justice will be served; the schemers and perpetrators of this odious act will experience severe consequences," said the PM.

Meanwhile, in a relentless crackdown on terrorists and their support networks, security forces annihilated another home linked to a terrorist in the Chotipora village of Bandipora district.

The terrorists whose residences have been demolished include Lashkar-e-Taiba's Adil Hussain Thoker, Zakir Ahmad Ganai, Amir Ahmad Dar, and Asif Sheikh, Shahid Ahmad Kuttey, Ahsan ul Haq Amir, Jaish-e-Mohammed's Amir Nazeer Wani, Jameel Ahmad Sher Gojri, the Resistance Front's Adnan Safi Dar, and Farooq Ahmad Tedwa.

Security officials reported that Ahsan ul Haq had trained in Pakistan in 2018, eventually infiltrating the valley, while Lashkar commander Shahid Ahmad Kuttay has a sordid history of antinational activities, and Zakir Ahmad Ganie was under close watch for suspected involvement in various terror-related activities.

Officials speculated that Farooq Ahmad Tedwa operates from Pakistan, and Thoker is suspected to have played a significant role in the tragic attack on April 22nd. A police spokesperson explained that the demolitions and searches aim to dismantle the terror infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. Since the April 22nd terror attack in Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam, security forces have demolished ten houses belonging to suspected terrorists.

The homes of Asif Sheikh and Adil Hussain Thoker, the two local terrorists implicated in the Pahalgam terror attack, were annihilated by the security forces two days prior. Additionally, eight other demolitions took place in Ganderbal, Bandipora, Shopian, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Pulwama. So far, 175 suspected individuals have been detained for questioning in the Pahalgam terror attack inquiry.
