A Lost Son and a Gained Son - Frühling’s 15th season kicks off with a child’s disappearance and dark secrets

The popular ZDF series Frühling returns for its 15th season with six fresh episodes. Fans can stream all of them from Saturday, January 10, in the ZDF media library. The new season begins with a mystery: a young stranger arrives in the village, sparking rumours about Pastor Sonnleitner’s past.

The season opener, One Hundred Meters, follows the dramatic cliffhanger from last year. Trixie’s husband Mark faces every parent’s nightmare when his three-year-old son Karl vanishes. The boy’s trail disappears between two surveillance cameras just 100 metres apart. The entire village rallies to search, while Katja grows suspicious that Karl’s biological father may be involved.

Meanwhile, Katja is caring for Sarah, whose mother Maike saved her younger brother’s life with a lung donation. Just as Maike and her son prepare to return home, unexpected complications arise. Katja also struggles with guilt over a secret she swore to keep for her friend Trixie. A new face stirs up trouble in Frühling. Arthur Moser, played by Timur Bartels, arrives as an enigmatic outsider. He claims to have found a distant family link to Pastor Sonnleitner online, fuelling false whispers that the priest has a secret son. His true motives for coming to the village remain unclear—at least for now. The show continues to follow village helper Katja, portrayed by Simone Thomalla. With over five million regular viewers, Frühling remains one of Germany’s most-watched dramas.

All six episodes of the 15th season will be available to stream from January 10. The disappearance of Karl and the mystery surrounding Arthur Moser set the stage for another gripping season. Viewers can expect emotional twists, long-buried secrets, and the tight-knit community’s fight to protect its own.
