From boom to bankruptcy: The turbulent rise and fall of Prodex-Omsk's oil empire

Prodex-Omsk LLC, a company founded in 2007 in Tavricheskoye, once operated a major oil-processing plant. The facility opened in 2014 with high expectations, producing up to 53,000 tons of sunflower oil each year. But financial struggles soon followed, leading to bankruptcy and a change in ownership by 2026. The company launched its oil-processing plant in 2014, designed to handle 145,000 tons of raw materials annually. Regional officials, including then-Governor Nazarov, attended the opening ceremony. The plant focused on sunflower oil, with a planned output of 53,000 tons per year.

By the summer of 2018, Prodex-Omsk faced serious financial trouble. A bankruptcy petition was filed, triggering insolvency proceedings. Assets, including a 5,450-square-meter oilseed processing plant and land plots, were put up for sale. Their combined value was initially estimated at around 3.43 billion rubles. The company’s financial situation remained volatile. In 2024, it reported a net profit of 96 million rubles. But by 2025, losses had soared to approximately 1.1 billion rubles. Despite this, Prodex-Omsk officially exited bankruptcy in February 2025. Ownership shifted over time. As of May 4, 2026, Blago-Omsk LLC became the sole co-owner. Blago Management Company was appointed as the administrator to oversee operations.

The plant’s journey reflects both ambition and financial challenges. After years of instability, it now operates under new ownership. The future of Prodex-Omsk LLC will depend on how Blago-Omsk LLC manages its remaining assets and market position.
