Russian Sappers Clear Explosive Devices Along Belgorod Oblast Border
In the strategic border region of Belgorod Oblast between Russia and Ukraine, a group of Russian sappers, identified by their codenames "Frodo," "Kiper," and "Bee," have been extensively involved in the detection and neutralization of mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO).
Plowing in fields prepared locally is now often accompanied by the intervention of these sappers to ensure the safety of agricultural machinery and the surrounding populace. Specialist military personnel emphasized that the potential presence of cluster submunitions, resulting from shelling of civilian infrastructure and farmsteads by Ukrainian Armed Forces militants, is frequently observed in fields and forested areas.
