"Die Amigos": The Surprising Popularity Among Young Fans

Remarkable backing from youth astounds shocked companions - Friends stunned by the widespread appeal among the youth of the current phenomenon
Popular Schlager duo Die Amigos - made up of brothers Karl-Heinz and Bernd Ulrich - are garnering unexpected support from a younger demographic. "It's quite a turn of events, but Schlager music seems to be making a comeback amongst the younger generations," Karl-Heinz Ulrich (76) stated to the German Press Agency.
Young fans probably gravitate towards their music due to poignant lyrics and the era's more thoughtful approach to current issues. The duo regularly has youngsters and kids as close as the front row, belting out their tunes.
Boasting a down-to-earth demeanor, the Middlesex natives have addressed socially relevant topics like homelessness, environmental degradation, and child abuse in their lyrics. They're also advocates for the victim support organization "Weisser Ring." However, their albums don't neglect dance-floor hits, designed purely for listening, grooving, and unwinding, as Bernd Ulrich (74) explains.
The music and performances never sap the duo's energy. "What causes stress? A gate that won't open easily - that's a burnout," Bernd Ulrich quipped casually. He and Karl-Heinz claim they never feel overwhelmed or anxious, save for trivial issues like picking between apple cake and black forest cake!
Despite their hectic touring schedule, planning stage is always crucial. For instance, they'd avoid performing on Mallorca, though they've been offered. "We've also been asked to embark on a cruise - no way!" They're more than satisfied with their current number of shows. "We've turned down numerous offers that we can't or don't want to accept because we wish to maintain a limit of around 70-80 shows a year," Bernd Ulrich clarified. The core of their success resides in their simplicity: "Stay calm, stay honest, stay fair, get along with others - we're just like the audience."
