Friends of Düsseldorf Book Marks 50th Anniversary with Mozart and Haydn
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the Friends of Düsseldorf Book '75 e.V. (FDB) marked its golden anniversary with a special event at the Goethe Museum in the historic Rococo Hall of Jägerhof Castle. Around seventy guests, including members, companions, and cultural representatives, attended the celebration. The highlight of the evening was a performance by a renowned string quartet, playing works by Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The FDB, founded in June 1975, has significantly contributed to Düsseldorf's literary culture over the decades. To commemorate this milestone, the association invited the Solingen String Quartet, known for its specialized historical interpretations of classical works, to perform at the anniversary event. Greetings were conveyed by esteemed figures such as Dr. Heike Spies, Bernhard von Kries, and Prof. Volkmar Hansen.
Maria Stalder, the long-standing chairwoman of the FDB, emphasized the association's importance in Düsseldorf's cultural life. She highlighted the FDB's role in enriching the city's literary scene with various activities over the years.
