Friends of Daniel Kueblboeck Identify Pivotal Point in His Acting Education - Friends of Daniel Küblböck are tuning in to "Pivotal Lesson in Acting Development"
In August, a three-part ARD documentary titled "The Küblböck Story - Your Lana Kaiser" will air, featuring Küblböck's former companions. This documentary promises to delve into the life of the late Daniel Küblböck, who gained fame in 2002 as a flamboyant contestant on "Deutschland sucht den Superstar," and his transformation into Lana Kaiser.
After publicly announcing in 2018 under the name Lana Kaiser that he wanted to live as a woman, Küblböck began attending acting classes at the European Theatre Institute Berlin (ETI) together with his companion Friederike Dörr.
The documentary reveals that during his acting training, Küblböck faced severe psychological challenges. His fellow student Friederick Dörr described his behavior as “troubling” and recalled incidents indicating a “serious psychosis,” including disruptive actions during rehearsals, likely aggravated by alcohol use. These difficulties made his participation in the acting program very hard and indicated the deep personal struggles behind his public transformation.
One of Küblböck's ex-partners is Robin Gasser, who was in a relationship with Küblböck for three years from 2014 to 2017. Gasser describes the breakup as having multiple stages and admits to having never loved anyone as much as he loved Daniel Küblböck. He refers to Daniel as a person who had "so much joy for life" and "loved himself for this life."
During this phase of his life, Küblböck found his way to Lana Kaiser at the acting school and wanted to leave his life as Daniel Küblböck behind. It was during this phase that Küblböck boarded the Aida-Luna and disappeared, eventually being declared dead in 2021.
Gasser describes their relationship as "very passionate" and refers to Küblböck as a trailblazer regarding gender roles, diversity, and sexuality. He describes their familial relationship as "shattered."
The bullying and stressful training affected Küblböck's relationship with Manuel Pilz. Küblböck experienced bullying at the acting school, and the acting training was much more stressful and demanding than he had anticipated.
The documentary "The Küblböck-Story – Eure Lana Kaiser" portrays the transformation of Daniel Küblböck into Lana Kaiser, highlighting his acting training as a significant part of his journey. Küblböck wanted to establish a second career in acting alongside his music, and his pursuit of this dream was intertwined with his move toward becoming Lana Kaiser, providing a space and framework for exploring gender identity.
- I'm not sure if Küblböck's time at the European Theatre Institute Berlin was entirely enjoyable, given the troubling behavior he exhibited and the psychological challenges he faced, which were described as "serious" by his fellow student, Friederick Dörr.
- Despite the impact of the bullying and stressful training at the acting school, it seems that Küblböck was deeply invested in his dream of a career in entertainment and becoming a trailblazer in pop-culture, particularly when it came to gender roles, diversity, and sexuality.
