Udisha reports on the passing of Matthew Perry, the beloved actor who played Chandler Bing on the iconic sitcom Friends.

Perry's struggle with addiction was a long and difficult one, according to his co-star Jennifer Aniston. In an emotional Instagram tribute, Aniston expressed her intense grief and described the pain of saying goodbye to her friend.

Aniston revealed that the Friends cast had been concerned about Perry's health for a significant period before his death. They did everything they could to support him, but his battle with addiction was a hard one to fight.

In her tribute, Aniston wrote that saying goodbye to Matthew Perry was an "insane wave of emotions" she had never experienced before. She ended her post with a heartfelt message, "Matty, I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain...Rest little brother. You always made my day."

Perry's addiction began early in his life, with alcohol at age 14, and escalated to opioid dependence after a jet ski accident in 1997. During the peak of Friends, he reportedly consumed up to 55 pills daily along with alcohol, leading to severe health issues and addiction battles over decades. He entered rehab about 15 times and spent roughly $9 million on recovery efforts.

In 2022, Perry published a book titled Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, where he opened up about his challenges with alcoholism and addiction.

Perry passed away on 28th October, 2023, in his Los Angeles home, where he was found unresponsive in a hot tub. The cause of death was the acute effects of ketamine, compounded by heart disease and drowning.

The Friends cast, including Aniston, attended Perry's funeral, highlighting their close bond and ongoing support despite his addiction struggles.
