Fresno Braces for First Major Storm: PG&E Ready, Drivers Cautioned

Fresno County braced for its first significant storm of the season on Monday night, with wet roadways and potential hazards posing challenges. PG&E has geared up, while local officials warn of slick roads and mudslides in wildfire burn scars.

PG&E has deployed extra equipment and stationed crews in areas likely to be affected by power outages. The utility uses AI to predict which areas will be most impacted by the rain. Meanwhile, Fresno County Board Supervisor Nathan Magsig cautioned drivers about slick roadways due to unfamiliarity with rain. The Valley floor could receive up to an inch of rain over the next couple of days. In anticipation, the city of Clovis has set up a self-serve sandbag station. Additionally, PG&E has been checking areas with high vegetation to prevent potential fires.

As the first major storm of the season hits Fresno County, PG&E is prepared with extra equipment and AI-driven predictions. Drivers are warned about slick roads, and residents are advised to stay informed about potential mudslides in wildfire burn scars. The city of Clovis has provided sandbags for residents' use.
