Freshman running back receives glowing praise from Ohio State football coach Ryan Day
Ohio State Running Back Bo Jackson Shines in First Two Games
In a significant boost for Ohio State's football programme, freshman running back Bo Jackson has made a strong start to his college career. Jackson, who committed to the team a year ago, has impressed coach Ryan Day with his diverse skills and talent.
In the first two games of the season, Jackson has rushed for 217 yards with a score on 18 carries. He demonstrated his vision and ability to catch the ball against Grambling State, where he had nine carries for 108 yards and a score. In the following game against Ohio, he continued his impressive form with nine carries for 109 yards.
Despite having fewer rushing attempts than CJ Donaldson and James Peoples, Jackson leads the Ohio State running backs in total yards. Day has acknowledged Jackson's talent and stated that they will continue to trust him with the ball.
Day also emphasized the importance of ball security, pass protection, and all other aspects for Jackson's continued growth. The coach noted that everyone in the running back room will need to contribute, particularly during Big Ten Conference play, where the running back room will be crucial.
Ohio State has a bye in Week 4 before beginning Big Ten Conference play against Washington. With Jackson's impressive performances so far, it will be challenging for Day to keep him off the field.
Ryan Day's program secured a significant win with Jackson's commitment, as he chose Ohio State over Georgia and Alabama. As the season progresses, it will be exciting to see how Jackson continues to develop and contribute to Ohio State's success.
Meanwhile, CJ Donaldson and James Peoples have also made valuable contributions to the team, with Donaldson having 33 carries, 151 yards, and two scores, and Peoples having 25 carries and 126 yards. As the season unfolds, the running back room will undoubtedly play a crucial role in Ohio State's journey through the Big Ten Conference.
