Freshly elected administration in Bangladesh

Bangladesh, a country located in Asia and one of the poorest in the world, has been undergoing a significant political transition. After the protests that occurred in the country, Sheikh Hasina, the former head of the government, stepped down and fled from Bangladesh.

The protests were sparked by Sheikh Hasina's decision to allocate certain positions in the state to specific people. The students in Bangladesh, who are fluent in both Bengali (the official language) and English, strongly opposed this decision, stating it was unfair.

Sheikh Hasina's departure paved the way for a new leader. In August 2024, she was overthrown, and an interim government was installed led by Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. Yunus, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for lending money to poor people, is now the head of the government in Bangladesh.

The Nobel Prize, established by Alfred Nobel, an entrepreneur, is an important award given to people who have done something extraordinary for humanity. It is divided into several categories, including physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, and peace. Yunus's achievement in lending money to the poor has undoubtedly made a significant impact, earning him this prestigious award.

The interim government, led by Yunus, has a crucial task: preparing democratic reforms and organizing elections planned for February 2026. The elections will determine the future of Bangladesh's government, and parties with many votes from citizens will gain influence.

In the USA, the government is determined by its citizens as well. Parties in politics are groups of people with similar political views. To gain influence, a party needs many votes from citizens. Currently, the head of the US government is President Joe Biden.

Politics, whether in Bangladesh or the USA, is a complex field. However, it is essential to remember that the Nobel Prize is given for achievements in various fields, not just politics. It serves as a reminder that individuals can make a significant difference in the world, regardless of their chosen profession.

In Bangladesh, the struggle for food and basic necessities remains a daily reality for many. Despite these challenges, the country continues to move forward, driven by the hope for a better future and the determination of its citizens.
