Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have extended their partnership with streaming giant Netflix under their production company, Archewell Productions. The new multi-year, first-look deal allows Netflix the right of first refusal on their film and television projects, but if they pass, the Sussexes can shop those projects to other companies.
The deal includes the second season of Meghan's lifestyle series "With Love, Meghan", a holiday special, and new projects under her lifestyle brand, As Ever. This partnership differs from their initial 2020 exclusive deal and resembles Netflix's similar transition with Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground production company.
In the second season of "With Love, Meghan", viewers can expect to see several high-profile celebrity guest stars, including Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, and Jay Shetty. The series will be available on Netflix starting August 26.
Meghan is also seen in a new trailer for the second season, cooking, baking bread, laughing, engaging in artistic projects, and working with flowers. She shares that she enjoys spending time with others and finding new ways to show care.
The Christmas special of "With Love, Meghan" is described as a "Christmas miracle filled with warmth, tradition, and a generous helping of joy." The special will air on Netflix in December.
Interestingly, the deal no longer includes an exclusive contract with Netflix, meaning that if Netflix declines a project, Archewell Productions can seek out other providers or distributors.
Prince Harry, it appears, is not a fan of lobster, as revealed in the new trailer. As for the festive feast, Meghan will focus on handmade gifts and the festive feast in the upcoming Christmas special.
