New Pro-Chancellor Appointed for Bayero University, Kano
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made a strategic appointment in the education sector of Nigeria, announcing the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Saddiq Ismaila Kaita (retired) as the new Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano.
The appointment was made known in a statement issued by Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Air Vice Marshal Saddiq Ismaila Kaita succeeds Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna in this role.
Dr. Gawuna currently also chairs the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), and the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Kaita was made to allow him to focus fully on his responsibilities at the FHA.
Air Vice Marshal Saddiq Ismaila Kaita's military background highlights significant leadership and strategic expertise acquired during his service. Prior to his retirement, he served as the Director of Strategy at the Defence Headquarters and was also the Chief of Defence Transformation and Innovation.
