Freno de Europa: Iconic Criollo Horses Take Center Stage in Italy
The European Association of Horse Breeders and All Futurity are set to host 'Freno de Europa', a spectacular event dedicated to the iconic South American Criollo horses. This three-day extravaganza, organized by Núcleo de Criadores de Cavalo Crioulo – Italia (NCCC Italia), will showcase the best of these hardy and agile equines in conformation evaluations, functional trials, and technical clinics.
The international All Futurity event in Cremona will play host to this unique celebration of tradition and sport. The event will feature a packed schedule, including gait and figure trials, obstacle and spinning tests, and an awards ceremony to honor the top competitors. The Criollo horse, renowned for its gentleness and cattle work capabilities, will be center stage.
Thirty horses from Italy, France, and Germany will compete, with an international panel of judges from Brazil, including André Luiz Narciso Rosa and Tiago José Mallmann, ensuring fair and expert evaluation. The Brazilian delegation also includes photographers Fagner Almeida and João Morais, journalist Daymon Grocheviski, and Marcelo Mastrobuono, editor of Revista Horse magazine. Technical preparation will be led by Iuri Barbosa, a seasoned jinete and multiple Freno de Oro finalist.
