"French footballer joins Chelsea following official club announcement of transfer deal"
Chelsea Signs Defender Axel Disasi from Monaco
Chelsea FC has officially announced the signing of French defender Axel Disasi from Monaco. The 25-year-old, who can play as a right-back and a central defender, has joined the London-based club on a deal that runs until June 2029.
Disasi joined Monaco in August 2020 from Stade de Reims for €13 million. During his time at the French club, he played a total of 129 games and made a significant impact, scoring 12 goals and making 4 assists, apart from his defensive duties.
The financial details of the deal between Chelsea and Monaco have not been disclosed. However, British media reports suggest that Monaco will receive €45 million in compensation for Disasi.
Disasi's arrival at Chelsea is not confirmed to be related to any specific player or situation. However, it is understood that his signing is due to the severe injury of their summer signing, Wesley Fofana.
Prior to his transfer to Chelsea, Disasi previously played for Monaco. He has also represented France at the international level, playing in 4 games for the national team recently.
Initially, Disasi is planned to be used as a right central back for Chelsea. With his versatility and experience, he is expected to provide valuable depth to the Chelsea defence.
Disasi's signing marks another addition to the Chelsea squad as they look to bounce back from a difficult season. The French defender will be hoping to help Chelsea return to their former glory and compete at the top of the Premier League.
