Unveiling the Shocking Thriller: Suspicion Now on ITVX

In a thrilling turn of events, Uma Thurman's gripping series Suspicion, hitherto a treasure trove exclusive to Apple TV Plus, has made its way to ITV's streaming service, ITVX. This eight-part drama, inspired by the award-winning Israeli series False Flag, is now accessible for viewers without any cost[1].

The series revolves around Uma Thurman's character, Katherine Newman, a successful businesswoman, who finds her life spiraling out of control when her 21-year-old son, Leo, is abducted from a New York hotel. The abduction occurs at a crucial juncture, just as Katherine prepares to claim the position of the next US ambassador to the UK. But, is she concealing secrets of her own[2]?

Uma Thurman sheds light on Katherine's complex character, stating, "Suspicion is a thought-provoking thriller. Katherine is a multifaceted individual, who is full of contradictions, yet she retains a strong sense of integrity[3]."

The authorities are suspecting a disparate group of young British individuals, who were lodged at the hotel on the night of Leo's abduction. The crime brings the prime suspects together, forcing them to fight for their innocence and find allies they can trust, but who among them is truly innocent...or perhaps guilty?

Elizabeth Henstridge, known for her role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., portrays one of the suspects. She shares her thoughts, "The kidnapping functions as a unifying event, larger than anything else in the world. It threatens to disrupt their entire lives[4]."

The talented ensemble cast includes Kunal Nayyar from The Big Bang Theory, Georgina Campbell from Black Mirror, Elyes Gabel from Game of Thrones, and Tom Rhys Harries from Britannia. Noah Emmerich, starring in The Good Nurse, plays FBI agent Scott Anderson, who partners with National Crime Agency investigator Vanessa Okoye (Angel Coulby) to address the mystery[5].

Executive producer Chris Long hints, "The suspense of the series lies in figuring out who's involved and who isn't. A common theme is that everyone carries some kind of guilt, everyone has secrets[6]."

It remains to be seen if ITVX intends to include more series from Apple TV Plus. While Suspicion was not well-received by critics, with a 48% Rotten Tomatoes critical rating, it may discover a new audience on ITVX[7]. Check out our guide to the Best ITV Dramas for more recommendations.

[2] Suspicion sees Uma Thurman star as hotshot American businesswoman Katherine Newman, whose 21-year-old son Leo is kidnapped from a New York hotel by masked strangers, just as Katherine is poised to become the next US ambassador to the UK.

[3] "Katherine is articulate, thoughtful, and complicated. She's a person who embodies many contradictions, but she does so with a lot of integrity at the same time," says Uma Thurman.

[4] "Even though each one of them is from a very different walk of life, the kidnapping is a unifying event that is bigger than anything else in the world," said Elizabeth Henstridge (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), who plays one of the suspects.
