Free access to the most outstanding Assassin's Creed title in years granted to Xbox Game Pass subscribers
The gaming world is abuzz with excitement as Microsoft adds two highly-anticipated titles to Xbox Game Pass. Starting from 7 August 2025, subscribers can enjoy the immersive gameplay of Assassin's Creed Mirage and the thrilling action of Aliens: Fireteam Elite.
Assassin's Creed Mirage, a return to the series' roots, takes players back a couple of centuries before the original game. This new instalment offers a tighter, more focused game design compared to recent games, and it has a similar feel to the classic Assassin's Creed games of old. The game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, gaming PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Best of all, it's free for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
For those who missed the series after a three-year hiatus, Assassin's Creed Mirage comes as a pleasant surprise. Previously, to play the game, one had to purchase it outright or subscribe to Ubisoft+ Premium for an additional £14.99 per month. But now, with Xbox Game Pass, subscribers can enjoy this new chapter in the Assassin's Creed saga without any additional costs.
Meanwhile, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is making a comeback on Xbox Game Pass on 12 August. This cooperative third-person survival shooter is available for cloud, console, and PC, and it's accessible to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Standard members.
In other news, a new Alien TV show, Alien: Earth, is due to start. Fans of the Alien franchise will undoubtedly be looking forward to this exciting development.
As for other additions to Xbox Game Pass, the second half of August will see more games joining the roster. Stay tuned for announcements in the coming week.
On the flip side, Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on 15 August. So, if you're a fan of these games, be sure to play them before they're gone!
