Fraunhofer IIS unveils AI-driven logistics innovations at LogiMAT 2026
Fraunhofer IIS will present its latest generative AI solutions for logistics at LogiMAT 2026. The institute's Supply Chain Services division aims to improve efficiency, resilience, and sustainability in modern supply chains. Visitors can explore new tools designed for warehouse operations, document management, and demand forecasting.
The event will feature an Expert Forum on generative AI in logistics on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM. Held in the LogiMAT Arena at the Atrium East Entrance, the session will cover dialogue-based decision support, AI-driven demand forecasting, and the role of large language models in logistics.
At its booth, Fraunhofer IIS will demonstrate multiple AI applications. These include intelligent knowledge management systems, automated document generation, and AI-powered inventory management. A benchmarking tool for warehouse locations will also be showcased, alongside forecasting models for raw material prices and Process AI solutions. The institute's approach combines generative AI with traditional analytics. Techniques like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and fine-tuning will tailor models to corporate data. Solutions will be accessible through conversational systems, making data-driven processes faster and more user-friendly.
Fraunhofer IIS will highlight how generative AI can streamline intralogistics, warehouse operations, and tender management. The demonstrators and forum aim to show practical ways to enhance decision-making in logistics. No specific pilot customers or reference projects have been named for these solutions at the event.
