Fraport names Dietmar Focke as new COO for Frankfurt Airport operations
Fraport has appointed Dietmar Focke as its new Chief Operating Officer for Aviation and Ground Services at Frankfurt Airport. He will take up the role on 1 May, filling a key position on the company's five-member executive board. The move follows the upcoming retirement of Anke Giesen at the end of 2025.
Focke brings extensive experience in aviation leadership. Before joining Fraport, he served as managing director at Lufthansa Industry Solutions. Earlier in his career, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Lufthansa Cargo.
Meanwhile, changes are also planned for Fraport's supervisory board. Kristina Wagner has been nominated to succeed Professor Katja Windt. Wagner currently works as Chief Technology Officer at OHB, a major European aerospace and technology group.
Focke's appointment completes Fraport's executive board, ensuring continuity in leadership. His background in both cargo operations and IT solutions is expected to support the airport's ongoing development.
The new COO will officially begin his duties on 1 May. His arrival coincides with the planned departure of Anke Giesen, whose retirement is scheduled for the end of next year. Wagner's nomination, if approved, will further strengthen the supervisory board's expertise in technology and aerospace.
