Demolition, New Construction, Green Facades: Frankfurt's New Neighborhoods - Frankfurt’s skyline transforms with new towers and bold redevelopment plans

Frankfurt’s skyline is changing as major projects near completion and new developments take shape. The 'Four' high-rise quarter, a cluster of four towers between 100 and 233 metres tall, is almost finished near Hauptwache. Meanwhile, demolition plans for long-abandoned structures are moving forward in other parts of the city.

The 'Four' high-rise quarter is taking its final form with most construction now complete. The plaza and pathways between the towers are finished, though many commercial spaces remain empty. Tower 3 already hosts the Kimpton am Main hotel, which has opened three venues to the public. A fitness studio is also set to open on the bridge linking two of the towers.

Law firm Freshfields occupies key office spaces in Towers 1 and 4, while Tower 2 already has a supermarket. Tower 1 will soon feature a two-storey market hall. The most expensive residential unit in the complex is a four-room, 135-square-metre apartment listed for €3.2 million. Elsewhere in Frankfurt, the city is preparing for demolition work. Three empty concrete skeletons at Kaiserlei Roundabout, unused for nearly 20 years, will be torn down in spring 2026. The municipal housing company ABG will then develop the site into the Kaiserlei Quarter, offering nearly 1,200 rental apartments by 2029. Another major project, the Allerheiligenviertel district, is also set for redevelopment. ABG purchased the area and will begin demolishing existing structures in spring 2026. The new mixed-use quarter will include apartments, dining, retail, and a hotel, with the Main Yard complex expected to finish in the second half of 2026. Green facades will feature prominently in the redesign.

The 'Four' high-rise quarter is nearly complete, with offices, retail, and luxury apartments ready for tenants. Demolition at Kaiserlei Roundabout and Allerheiligenviertel will clear the way for new housing and commercial spaces. The city’s redevelopment plans aim to add thousands of homes and modern amenities over the next few years.
