Despite the nuisance, there's some good news. Overall, pedestrian safety perception has improved in Frankfurt. Two years ago, only 41% felt secure. Now, that number has climbed to 50%.
What do Frankfurt's pedestrians want for even greater safety? More traffic lights with extended green phases top their wishlist. Crosswalks and 30 km/h speed limits in residential areas come in as a close second.
The ADAC advocates consistent enforcement of traffic violations. This includes tackling parking cars that obstruct intersections and visibility. These obstacles alarm 52% of respondents.
