Record profit for Frankfurt Volksbank - Frankfurter Volksbank hits record €118.8M profit in 2025 after tax cuts
Frankfurter Volksbank has posted its highest-ever profit, reaching €118.8 million in 2025. The result marks a 29 percent jump in net income compared to the previous year. Growth came on the back of stronger earnings and lower tax costs.
The bank's financial performance improved steadily in 2024. Net interest income and commission revenue both rose, while higher securities valuations added to gains. Tax expenses also fell that year, as no merger-related property transfer taxes were due.
Since 1990, Frankfurter Volksbank has completed 22 mergers, expanding its presence across the Rhine-Main region. These deals helped grow its business but also led to a shift in rankings. In 2025, it lost its position as Germany's largest cooperative bank by total assets to Berliner Volksbank.
The record profit follows a year of stronger earnings and reduced tax burdens. Despite its growth, the bank now ranks second in assets among German cooperative lenders. The results reflect both its merger strategy and favourable market conditions in 2024.
