Hours of Waiting in Line for the Stars - Frankfurt Book Fair's 'Meet the Author' Event Attracts Thousands of Eager Fans

The Frankfurt Book Fair launched with a bang, attracting around 20,000 visitors eager to 'meet' their favorite authors. This year marked a first, with non-professional visitors gaining early access on Friday morning.

The 'Meet the Author' event took over the historical Festhalle, spanning 5,600 square meters and featuring 84 authors over 91 hours. Fans queued for hours, with five signing tables accommodating three rows each for current and upcoming authors. Prominent authors like Caroline Wahl required advance 'book' orders.

The event drew large crowds, particularly in the morning. Stella Tack's and Antonia Wesseling's signing sessions were notably packed. SenLinYu, author of 'Manacled', a Harry Potter fan continuation, also had a long queue of eager fans.

Despite some authors' names remaining unknown, the Frankfurt Book Fair's 'Meet the Author' event proved a resounding success, with thousands of visitors flocking to 'meet' their literary idols. The well-organized queueing system and the historical venue's transformation added to the event's charm.
