Frank Zander in the clinic

A speeding ambulance rushed Frank Zander to Martin Luther Hospital in Berlin, leaving his Charlottenburg apartment behind. The journey wasn't easy, considering he'd be hosting the 29th annual Christmas party for the homeless and needy in just two weeks at the Hotel Estrel in Neukölln. The Christmas event, an annual tradition, would include a lavish roast goose dinner for thousands.

Marcus Zander, Frank's son, admitted that their father had been unwell, his condition worsening significantly in the past two weeks. By the time the ambulance was at his doorstep, Frank struggled to leave bed, barely ate, and lost his appetite for his beloved Molle.

"We realized his physical condition was deteriorating day by day," Marcus shared. "It was time to call in the doctors."

Upon arrival, Frank insisted on walking to the ambulance, albeit with an unsteady gait. In the hospital, doctors conducted a series of checks, from his heart and kidneys to COVID-19 tests.

Initial diagnoses were promising, indicating no major issues. However, lab results showed unusual inflammation levels, leaving doctors puzzled. Consequently, Frank remained in the hospital for further investigation and treatment.

Marcus hoped for Frank's rapid recovery so he could return to the stage for the grand Christmas party at the Estrel Hotel. His grandson, Elias, would make his debut during this year's event, playing the drums and coordinating the performances.

Despite their setbacks, the Zander family remained united in their hope for better days ahead.
