United Front for Ukraine Ceasefire

France's President Macron confirms US commitment to keeping watch on the truce in Ukraine.

We've got a strong alliance joining forces for Ukraine. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Labor Leader Keir Starmer, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk are all fighting for Ukraine's corner, with backing from US President Trump. Together, they're pushing Russia to agree to a 30-day ceasefire, with the US leading the monitoring efforts.

Emmanuel Macron announced at a press conference with Merz, Starmer, and Tusk that the upcoming ceasefire will primarily be monitored by the US. But fret not, all our European friends will chip in too. Ursula von der Leyen's gang ain't playing around!

Ukrainian President Zelensky, in full support, expressed his confidence in America's assistance. He warned that if Russia refuses the complete and unconditional ceasefire, then sanctions should be imposed, with an emphasis on strong sanctions in the energy and banking sectors.

Merz: "Ready for a Fight, Ready for Talks"

Prior to this, a conference call was held between Zelensky and the coalition of the willing. Andrij Yermak shared a selfie of the group, labeling it "historical moments."

After the meeting, Merz declared, "The ball is in Russia's court. If they refuse this ceasefire, we'll keep supporting Ukraine and rachet up the pressure on Putin." He also added that we're closer than ever to ending this goddamn war.

Regarding Taurus missiles, Merz declared, "We'll support Ukraine militarily any way we can, to put an end to this conflict. From now on, discussions about weapons deliveries will be kept under wraps, but I'll level with the public about what's happening."

Tusk: "The Free World is United"

Donald Tusk exclaimed, "For the first time in a while, we experience unity among the free world!" The coalition of the willing hopes to bring a 30-day ceasefire and resumption of peace talks by May 12, with Trump leading the charge.

Macron also offered robust security guarantees for Ukraine. "We just discussed this with our international allies," Macron shared, followed by a round of high-fives.

Russia's Conditions for Ceasefire

Russia, in a typical move, has imposed conditions for the ceasefire. They want an end to all weapons deliveries to Kyiv before considering the truce. "Otherwise, Ukraine will gain an advantage," Dmitry Peskov clarified.

Both sides accuse each other of not truly wanting a ceasefire. Zelensky has been pushing for weeks for the agreement reached by Trump.

Showdown with Putin

Tusk, Merz, and Macron have expressed their readiness to negotiate with Putin, but they're not playing solo. "We've gotta talk to Putin, but only in coordination with our transatlantic partners," Tusk emphasized.

Kremlin's Casual Take on Sanctions

Regarding sanctions, Putin's lackey, Dmitry Peskov, remained calm. He stated that Russia isn't intimidated by the sanctions and has adapted to them already. "Bring it on, sanctions. We've been battling them before, and we're ready for a rematch."

Ukraine: Three Years Tough & Strong

The Ukrainian forces, with unwavering support from us, have defended themselves for three years against the Russian invasion. A three-day ceasefire announced by Russia to mark World War II's anniversary is still in effect, but both sides have accused each other of violating the truce.
