Portugal's beach soccer team, affectionately known as the "sand heroes," clinched a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Poland in their latest match, placing them firmly in second position within Group B of the Euro Beach Soccer League Andalucía 2025. This success follows hot on the heels of their comfortable 12-3 rout against Turkey.

The victory puts Portugal in a strong position to qualify for the Superfinal, scheduled to take place in Viareggio, Italy, from September 9 to 14. To secure their spot, they must be among the top seven teams in terms of points amassed during this phase.

Bernardo Lopes, Ruben Brilhante, and Jordan Santos found the back of the net for Portugal, leading 2-1 at the end of the first period and maintaining a 2-2 stalemate during the second, with the equalizer conceded in the final third.

The team's next fixture will take place on Sunday, once again at the Real Plaza de Toros de Puerto de Santa Maria in the province of Cadiz, Andalusia, with kickoff scheduled for 16:30.

Further details regarding the qualification rules for the Superfinal and Portugal's specific prospects are still pending, but their strong performance thus far offers a promising outlook.

France, with its rich sports history, boasts several competitive football clubs aiming to make a mark in the Champions League.
