Four elders and a grandchild conspired together, as stated by the old man.
In the upcoming comedy 'We Four and the Grandparent Scam', airing on the First channel on September 17th at 8:15 PM, four affluent and lively women come together to outsmart a cunning scammer. The ensemble works harmoniously, despite some contrasts among the characters. Irene (played by Irene Glas), a resident of Berlin, is a victim of a grandparent scam, tricked into giving away all her available money and valuable jewelry to an alleged policeman. Her story serves as the catalyst for the plot. Irene finds solace in an elegant senior residence, where she meets three other women: Helene (Katharina Thalbach), Christel (Ursula Werner), and Annemarie (Soogi Kang). Helene, a force as a somewhat pushy, resolute woman, organizes and wins at skat tournaments. Ursula Werner delights in flirting with muscular younger men, while Soogi Kang's film husband once fell for a nasty scam. The motto of this quartet is: 'We cheat the cheaters'. Directed by Mia Spengler, known for 'Punishment', and written by Kai Kreuser ('Kuntergrau'), the film includes lively music, singing, dance numbers, adventure, crime moments, self-irony, and social and TV criticism. The script takes a fairytale-like turn at times, but remains consistently entertaining. Uschi Glas plays a refined lady who is ashamed of her behavior but is straightened up by her new friends. The four women quickly become friends and decide to solve the fraud themselves, without involving the police. Their plan involves a clever trap and a pompous hearse to pursue the suspects. The film's director, Sarah Zurell, masterfully weaves these elements together, showcasing the abilities of each of the four main characters. Don't miss 'We Four and the Grandparent Scam' on September 17th for an evening of laughter, suspense, and camaraderie.
