Four detentions made following display of Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew, and Donald Trump on Windsor Castle using projected images
In the heart of London, Donald Trump's first full day in the UK began with a helicopter ride from London Stansted Airport to Winfield House in Regent's Park. The American leader will spend the night at this residence before being confined to the private Windsor estate for the remainder of the day.
Trump expressed his fondness for the UK, referring to it as a 'very special place.' He is set to be feted with a stay at Windsor Castle, where he will be hosted by the King and treated to a ceremonial welcome on Wednesday.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will play a key role in entertaining Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. However, the day was not without controversy, as protests against Trump's visit took place. Two protesters from the activist group Fossil Free London were escorted out of a dinner organised by Republicans Overseas UK in Windsor last night.
Perhaps the most notable incident occurred at approximately 8.45pm, when images of Jeffrey Epstein, Donald Trump, and Prince Andrew were projected onto Windsor Castle. The activist group INQUEST was reported to be behind the stunt, with the political campaign group Led By Donkeys taking credit for it. Four people were arrested on suspicion of malicious communication in relation to this public order incident.
Thames Valley Police took any unauthorized activity around Windsor Castle extremely seriously and responded swiftly to stop the projection. A thorough investigation is being conducted, and Chief Superintendent Felicity Parker stated that officers acted appropriately.
Despite the protests, Technology Secretary Liz Kendall assured the public that Trump's state visit and discussions with Sir Keir Starmer would not be distracted. The visit will continue with a lavish state banquet planned for Trump later in the visit, and he is scheduled to head to the Prime Minister's country residence Chequers on Thursday.
William and Kate will meet the American couple in the grounds of the Windsor estate on Wednesday, marking another significant event in Trump's first full day in the UK.
