Forty-six novice skydivers successfully executed their inaugural parachute jumps.
In the heart of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, the P.I. Baranov DSAA RF Aerosport Club played host to the annual "I Want to Be a Paratrooper" camp, a patriotic event that saw over 130 campers successfully complete their first parachute jump.
Among the participants were youngsters like Dmitri Udalov, who found the flight exhilarating and the view breathtakingly beautiful. Dmitri expressed a desire to jump again immediately, such was his newfound passion for skydiving.
The minimum age for parachute jumping is typically 16 years, with parental consent required for those under 18. However, the "I Want to Be a Paratrooper" camp welcomes participants who are at least 14 to 16 years old, depending on the operator and location.
Nadya Nevedova, a mother of a camper, watched with pride as her son, Yaroslav, took the plunge. Yaroslav's first parachute jump was a significant milestone for Nadya, who saw it as a rite of passage and a testament to her son's courage and determination. Yaroslav's older brother had already completed a parachute jump, setting a high bar for his younger sibling.
Family and friends attended the camp to support the young jumpers on their big day. The city's information policy department reported the successful completion of the parachute jump, adding to the sense of achievement and camaraderie among the participants.
Nadya praised the camp for aiding her son in setting life priorities and instilling qualities like courage, responsibility, discipline, and focus. She expressed a secret wish to jump herself, if given the opportunity.
The "I Want to Be a Paratrooper" camp was divided into three shifts this year, with 46 campers from the second shift completing their first parachute jump from a height of around 1000 meters. Each camper was guided by experienced instructors, ensuring a safe and memorable experience.
As the campers landed, they were met with cheers and applause from their families, friends, and fellow campers. The "I Want to Be a Paratrooper" camp is more than just a skydiving experience; it's a journey of self-discovery, courage, and camaraderie that leaves a lasting impact on the lives of its participants.
