- cdel07 2 days ago May 2, 2025 2:01 pmThanks for the perspective! In fact, most modern historians agree that it's more likely she DIDN'T murder her parents. Most of the negative stories about her during the trial were likely driven by fear and resentment towards her as a single woman inheriting a large estate.
- clumsyflower47 3 days ago May 2, 2025 10:42 amOne of the most disturbing phrases in the article: "for-profit juvenile detention centers."
- casualpizza23 2 days ago May 2, 2025 7:10 pmOf course, it's troubling to see a system driven by financial gain, especially when it comes to vulnerable children.

The irony is that Byers' death was the only reason female workers exposed to Radium paint in factories started to be believed. It seems it took a rich man to pass away first.* fancyshield231 2 days ago May 2, 2025 1:58 pm

I recently read part of the transcript from the investigation, and I have to agree—calling it an "innocent accident" really downplays the severity of the actions leading up to the plane crash. + torbielillies 13 hours ago May 4, 2025 9:39 pmYou're right. The pilot's carelessness and disregard for safety clearly played a significant role in the accident.* amandac4b39f8d18 2 days ago May 2, 2025 5:49 pm
- zanchettin66 2 days ago May 2, 2025 3:05 pmShould we add Donald Trump's Wikipedia page to the list?
- dizziestbitch 2 days ago May 2, 2025 6:17 pmWhile I'm not sure if it counts as "creepy," the story of Omayra Sanchez from 1985 haunts me. In Colombia, a volcano erupted, causing landslides that destroyed nearby towns and killed thousands of people. Omayra was a 13-year-old girl who became trapped in the debris, with her dead aunt's arms wrapped around her and her legs pinned in place. Disaster relief teams had inadequate equipment and were unable to rescue her, leading to her death from gangrene after 60 hours. The heartbreaking story demonstrates how preventable tragedies can occur, particularly when governments fail to act on credible geological warnings.
- uniquebunny75 2 days ago May 2, 2025 10:10 pmI've heard about the story of Omayra Sanchez before. It's a tragic reminder of humanitarian failings.
- msslhenry 2 days ago May 2, 2025 5:11 pmI appreciate #23 and your efforts to cast light on the atrocities committed by Carl Tanzler. He should be associated with his theft and necrophilia rather than romanticism.

I'm truly sorry for what happened to your father. The justice system's failures in these cases are disheartening. + casualgoblin56 1 day ago May 3, 2025 6:54 pm@casualpizza23 thank you* lilpeas35 2 days ago May 2, 2025 12:25 pmLizzie Borden didn't do it.* anneonymous1 2 days ago May 2, 2025 10:02 pm
