Fortuna Millingen Readies for the 2025/26 Season
Fortuna Millingen is gearing up for an exciting new season in the Kreisliga B, with several changes and improvements at the club.
The sports facility in Millingen has seen some significant upgrades, including the addition of a new terrace, a children's playground, and an outdoor fitness area. These new facilities aim to enhance the overall experience for both players and spectators.
On the pitch, Millingen's team remains largely unchanged, with key players such as Dennis Doering returning to the first team. The squad has also welcomed new additions, with Dennis Meiners joining from SV Vrasselt and Wael Zedan also joining the ranks.
However, the team will face some challenges early on. Alexander Siepen, a crucial player, has suffered a muscle tear and will miss the start of the season. Additionally, Jan Grohn is currently out with a knee injury, leaving a gap in the midfield.
Tom Drews, another key player, is still recovering from patellar tendon issues, but his progress will be closely monitored as the season approaches.
Millingen's goal for the season is clear: to finish among the top five and improve on last season's fourth-place finish. The team's sights are set on the title, with SV Rees considered the clear favourite. However, Millingen will have their chances to prove themselves, with local clashes against SV Rees on August 24 and SV Haldern II, the season opener, on an unspecified date before August 17.
Off the pitch, Fortuna Millingen is preparing for its annual general meeting on September 19 at 7 p.m. at the clubhouse. The meeting will provide an opportunity for members to discuss the club's progress and plans for the future.
Coach Rolf Sent will be supported by Thomas Herhold and Marc Szau as co-trainers and goalkeeping coach, respectively. The trio will work together to guide the team through the challenges and opportunities of the upcoming season.
With high hopes and a strong team, Millingen aims to be among the top contenders in the 2025/26 season. The club's focus remains on continuous improvement and providing an enjoyable experience for both players and fans.
