Fortis Hospital Honours Local Women Leaders on International Women's Day 2026

Fortis Hospital Bannerghatta Road marked International Women's Day 2026 with a special celebration under the theme Give to Gain. The main event honoured women secretaries from local Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) for their dedication to community welfare and neighbourhood engagement.

The hospital hosted a felicitation ceremony where each honouree received a gift hamper and a voucher for a complimentary women's health check-up.

The celebrations began with senior clinicians and hospital leaders addressing the gathering. Dr Ananth Rao, Vice President and Business Head of Fortis Hospitals in Bengaluru, stressed the need to celebrate inspiring women as a way to promote empowerment and wellbeing. Mr Gautham CB, Facility Director at Fortis Hospital Bannerghatta Road, also spoke, recognising the crucial role women play in holding communities together.

Patient-facing staff wore pink and purple outfits for the occasion. They handed out roses to women patients and attendants as a gesture of appreciation. The event also included cultural performances by hospital employees, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The programme concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony. The hospital's initiative aimed to highlight women's leadership, compassion, and service while encouraging preventive healthcare among attendees.

The event honoured RWA secretaries for their grassroots contributions but did not disclose the number of awardees or specifics of their projects. Each woman recognised took home a gift hamper and a health check-up voucher. The hospital's celebrations reinforced the importance of community support and women's wellbeing.
