Formula One rule tightening provokes amusement from Lewis Hamilton
Formula 1 Champion Lewis Hamilton Criticizes FIA's Rule Change Regarding Flexi-Wings
Since the season debut, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have been dominating Formula 1 for McLaren, with their advanced "Flexi-Wings" technology being their main strength. This technology, however, drew the attention of the governing body, FIA, who imposed tightened regulations on flexible front wings, a move that has yielded little success.
Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, can only laugh at the situation, describing the rule change as a "waste of money." In Barcelona, Hamilton voiced his dissatisfaction, stating, "It's surprising that such a rule change didn't change anything. Teams ended up spending money unnecessarily."
Following the intervention by the FIA, all teams were required to develop new wings for the Spanish Grand Prix, but Piastri and Norris continued to lead qualifying as before. Hamilton, a Ferrari driver, noted, "All wings still bend, just not as much. It doesn't make sense because everyone had to develop new wings and spend money on them."
The Flexi-Wings, which bend under aerodynamic load and take on a different shape at higher speeds, have been McLaren's specialty. Despite the new regulations, the MCL39 remains superior to other cars. Hamilton seems resigned to the fact that he will not be able to catch up to the championship leaders for the time being. He explained, "We need half a second, and that's an impossible goal to achieve."

In the wake of the rule change to limit front wing flexibility to 10mm, Lewis Hamilton has expressed concerns over the unnecessary financial burden for teams without significant benefits in performance. While FIA aimed to create a more level playing field, the impact on specific teams, such as McLaren, remains unaffected, at least for the time being.
Sports and racing enthusiasts worldwide are closely watching the ongoing debate in the world of Formula One, with seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton voicing concerns about the FIA's rule change regarding Flexi-Wings. Hamilton, now a Ferrari driver, believes the rule change is a waste of money, as it has not significantly affected the performance of teams like McLaren in grand-prix auto-racing.
