Lance Stroll Back in Action after Hand and Wrist Recovery

After a grueling recovery period, Formula One driver Lance Stroll is set to compete at the Canadian Grand Prix, following a successful medical procedure. The 26-year-old Canadian had taken a break from racing due to persistent pain connected to injuries sustained from a cycling accident in 2023.

Originally, Stroll underwent surgery by MotoGP surgeon Dr. Xavier Mir and his team, following his accident at the beginning of the 2023 Formula One season. Remarkably, Stroll returned to racing just 10 days later, finishing sixth in the Bahrain Grand Prix [1][5]. However, the pain from his injuries persisted throughout the 2025 season, necessitating another procedure.

"I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend," shared Stroll. "I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd."

The Canadian team, Aston Martin, confirmed Stroll's return in a statement, mentioning that their driver completed some laps in an old F1 car at Paul Ricard earlier in the week. Stroll expressed that he feels fit and healthy, eager to compete in front of his home audience [2][3].

Despite missing the Spanish Grand Prix, Stroll maintains 12th place in the driver standings with 14 points. McLaren's Australian driver Oscar Piastri leads the table with 186 points [6].

It's clear that Stroll's quick recovery from both surgeries and his perseverance in facing adversity exemplify his resilience and determination in the face of challenges. As the Canadian Grand Prix approaches, everyone is rooting for Stroll's successful return to the track.
