McLaren Driver Oscar Piastri Steals Spotlight at Imola Debut Practice

F1 in Imola: Piastri Sets Top Speed for Second Consecutive Time - Formula 1 driver Piastri is currently recognized as the top performer in the sport.

Get ready for a fiery showdown on Sunday! World champ leader, Oscar Piastri, kept up his impressive streak at the initial Formula 1 race in Imola by outpacing every competitor in both practice sessions before the Grand Prix. The hotshot Australian from McLaren's aiming for his fourth back-to-back win at 3 PM CET on RTL and Sky TV.

Piastri's teammate, Lando Norris, hung tight in second place, while French driver Pierre Gasly on Alpine clinched third spot. Red Bull's four-time world champion, Max Verstappen, had to settle for a disappointing fifth position this weekend.

His fellow Red Bull racer's home debut went sideways, as Lewis Hamilton ended up 11th, complaining aboutImola'schannels braking system, while teammateCharles Leclerc squeezed into 6th position with similar remarks. Newcomer Kimi Antonelli, a local boy from Bologna racing for Mercedes, struggled to make it to 18th spot. German racer Nico Hülkenberg, driving for Sauber, came in 2nd from last.

Piastri dominated the standings with 131 points, having won an impressive four races, placing him way ahead of Norris who's just 16 points behind. Defending champion Max Verstappen is third.
