Cancelled Title Fight for Ex-World Champion Gualtieri After Sustaining an Injury - Former world champion Gualtieri's scheduled fight has been called off following his injury.
In a shocking turn of events, former world champion Vincenzo Gualtieri has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming boxing match scheduled for September 12 at the Uber Eats Music Hall in Berlin. Gualtieri was set to defend his European title of the WBO against Ramadan Hiseni, but a foot injury has left him unable to compete.
The Agon boxing stable confirmed the unfortunate news, stating that Gualtieri's participation in the match is impossible due to the injury. The ex-world champion, who became champion in 2023 by defeating Esquiva Falcao in Wuppertal and winning the IBF title, expressed his disappointment over the cancellation of the match.
Despite Gualtieri's absence, the Berlin boxing event will proceed with modifications. Cuban boxers Arlen López and Lázaro Álvarez will now fight for the WBA International and Continental titles, respectively. The event will still feature a strong lineup, including Hamsat Shadalov, Paul Wall, and other notable bouts.
Paul Wall will also be competing at the event, fighting for his first professional title. He will be vying for the German championship of the Bund Deutscher Berufsboxer (BDB). The event's date, venue, and streaming arrangements remain unchanged.
Vincenzo Gualtieri's injury marks a significant setback for the Italian boxer, who lost his biggest career title to Kazakh Shanibek Alimchanuli a few months after his victory over Esquiva Falcao. The Berlin boxing event, however, is set to be a spectacle, with a "Cuban Takeover" taking centre stage as top Cuban talent steps in for the injured Gualtieri.

The Commission has also requested Agon boxing to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers in the boxing industry, considering Gualtiero's injury-related setback. In the midst of campaigning for his first professional title, sports enthusiast Paul Wall will exhibit his skill at the upcoming Berlin boxing event.
