Clash Between Jack White's Ex and Current Wife Amidst His Health Struggles

Former spouses of Jack White engage in a dispute.

Get the scoop on this juicy celeb feud

Multiple health crises for musician Jack White, known as Horst Nußbaum in civil life, have kept him hospitalized. While he battles through, a heated dispute involving his ex-wife, Marie-Louise Gassen, and his current spouse, Rafaella Nußbaum, unfolds. The fights center around claims of contact restrictions and, as is typical, financial matters.

The legendary music producer, behind hits like "Looking for Freedom," is in recovery following a stroke. Amidst this turmoil, his family is verbally sparring. Gassen, his ex-wife from 1980 to 1992, alleges Rafaella Nußbaum is preventing contact between White and their children in an interview with Bild. "Rafaella doesn't let anyone near Jack. Our daughter Antonia can't call him, and neither can the other four children from Jack's previous marriages. Rafaella has forbidden it. It's a big mess!" Gassen expresses concern, particularly for Antonia's inability to see her father in years.

White himself suffered a severe fall, went into a coma, and was in intensive care. Upon his partial recovery, he also sustained a stroke. Reports suggest that while his wife, Rafaella Nußbaum, was not in Berlin, a housekeeper called the paramedics. Since then, the 84-year-old White has been recuperating in the hospital, allegedly isolated from his family, according to Marie-Louise Gassen.

No Contact with Other Children Either?

The children from White's other marriages - Frank and Pia with Else Stärken, and Gloria and Ella with Janine White - are also said to have no contact with their father. Bild reports that a gag order was imposed in December 2024, affecting family members.

The dispute doesn't stop there: Gassen also accuses Rafaella Nußbaum of recklessly spending White's fortune. "She spends his money like water, goes on trips, and parties with friends. She spends 30,000 to 50,000 euros a month, she's always been after his money!" Gassen worries that Rafaella could drain the musician's accounts, given her power of attorney.

Rafaella Nußbaum, 38, denies the allegations and fires back: "Marie-Louise is a bitter, malicious woman who constantly invents lies about me." She claims that Gassen harms her daughter Antonia with her accusations.
