Former romantic partner Cassie welcomes a newborn just fortnight after testifying against Sean 'Diddy' Combs; meanwhile, his request for a mistrial is turned down.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs's former partner, Cassie Ventura, welcomed a newborn child two weeks after testifying against him in a trial where he is accused of multiple charges related to sex trafficking. The child was reportedly born on Tuesday, as confirmed by Ventura's friend and former stylist, Deonte Nash.
Nash, who testified during the trial against Combs, stated that he spoke with Ventura "after she had the baby yesterday [Tuesday]."
Ventura, 38, offered her testimony while she was more than eight months pregnant, detailing physical, sexual, and mental abuse inflicted by Combs during their 11-year relationship. She accused the rapper of forcing her into numerous drug-fueled sex sessions with male escorts while he watched.
During Tuesday's proceedings, Combs's legal team attempted to secure a mistrial due to the testimony of Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) arson investigator Lance Jiminez. However, the judge dismissed the motion and instructed the jurors to disregard any reference to the fingerprints.
The trial, now in its eleventh day, involves accusations of two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution, and one count of conspiring to racketeer. Combs consistently denies all charges.
Other witnesses in the trial include rapper Kid Cudi and two alleged victims of alleged violence, Mia and Cassie Ventura herself. Testimony continued on Wednesday, with further evidence from law enforcement officers, detailing an alleged break-in at Kid Cudi's home and an alleged Molotov cocktail attack on his car.
The trial is ongoing, with both Mia and former Combs stylist Deonte Nash expected to resume their testimonies in the coming days.
In the midst of a high-profile trial where Sean 'Diddy' Combs faces multiple charges related to sex trafficking, Cassie Ventura's former stylist, Deonte Nash, revealed a conversation he had with Ventura following the birth of her child on Tuesday. Amidst the general-news headlines of crime-and-justice and war, the entertainment industry has been shaken as celebrity witnesses, including Ventura and Kid Cudi, continue to testify, unfolding tales of physical, sexual, and mental abuse, drug-fueled sex sessions, alleged violence, and attempted break-ins.
