Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie Johnson have welcomed their latest addition, Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson, who arrived on 21 May. The proud mother announced the birth on her Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message alongside a picture of her newborn.
In her post, Mrs. Johnson expressed her delight, saying, "I can't believe how pretty and tiny you are. Feel so incredibly lucky. We are all totally smitten. Not sure I've slept a minute since you were born as can't stop looking at how completely lovely you are."
Poppy is the fourth child for the couple, following Wilfred, Romy, and Frank. Mrs. Johnson thanked the maternity team at UCLH for their care, particularly midwives Asma and Patrick. She also stated that her older children, Wilf, Romy, and Frank, are overjoyed, especially Romy, who had been eagerly anticipating a little sister.
The Johnsons married in May 2021, and their daughter Romy was born in December of the same year, while sons Wilf and Frank were born in April 2020 and July 2023, respectively. Poppy marks the arrival of the couple's fourth child and is Mr. Johnson's ninth in total.
Though Mr. Johnson has not officially confirmed the exact number of his children, reports suggest that he has four children with his ex-wife Marina Wheeler, one with art consultant Helen Macintyre, and now four with his current wife.
The Johnsons are reportedly enjoying their new family dynamic, with Mrs. Johnson stating her excitement for time with her children and cocktails, as she nurses her newest little one.
