Celebrating a Century: SV Union Wesenberg's Centennial Extravaganza

Get ready for a grand celebration, folks! This year, our beloved sports club, SV Union Wesenberg, is turning 100, and we're gonna make it a birthday to remember! The big boss, Martin Linke, has dropped some juicy deets about the festivities. Prepare yourself for a four-day bash starting July 9th!

Can't Wait for the Elephant Race

The fun kicks off on Wednesday with a shindig for all bowling fanatics. On Thursday, we're opening our canoeing facilities for anyone interested. They'll be offering taster courses, and if you're feeling adventurous, you can give it a go!

The day's main event is the canoe elephant race at 6 pm. Local city reps, including ourselves, are expected to participate with our own boats. Martin's put out a call to those politicos, asking for ten volunteers to compete on the water. Six teams will be battling it out in the dragon boat race.

Guess Who's Gonna Be Here?

Friday's all about the kiddos and youth! Some big names from the sporting and political world will be dropping by to join in the official celebration. Alas, the enrichment data doesn't specify who these guests might be. If you're eager to find out the latest and greatest, check the official SV Union Wesenberg website or give them a ring.

Kids aged 3 to 6 will parade into the stadium. The young 'uns will then play footy from 10 am to 2 pm. At 3 pm, the classic team from 1. FC Union Berlin will face off against our very own men's team. The Berlin team consists of ex-Union players, and there may be one or two famous faces in the mix! The evening will end with music, food, drinks, and even a children's disco!

Stay tuned for more info on SV Union Wesenberg's centennial celebration, and we'll see you there!
