Title: "Zack Cozart Backs Away from Trump Over Iran Conflict"

Former Cincinnati Reds shortstop Zack Cozart, a constant supporter of Donald Trump, found himself at an impasse when the latter called for mass evacuations in Tehran amid the escalating Israel-Iran conflict.

In a post on social media, Cozart expressed his concern, stating, "If Trump gets us in a war, I will no longer support him, and I'm sure most of you know I love Trump." [I1]

Trump is wrapping up his stint at the G7 summit in Canada, departing earlier than planned due to the Middle East turmoil. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt highlighted Trump's successful meetings, including a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer before his departure. [I2]

Unexpectedly, Trump took to his social media platform to call for a peace deal between Iran and Israel and a vision to "make the Middle East Great again" on June 15, 2025. [I3]

In preparation for Trump's return, the National Security Council has been readied in the situation room. [I1] However, White House spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer squashed rumors of the U.S. military engaging in an attack on Iran, assuring that American forces continue to maintain their defensive posture. Cozart's political endorsement of Trump was evident as he expressed his eagerness to vote for the president at the Republican National Convention near a year ago. [I1] Known for his career as a Major League Baseball player from 2011 to 2019, the Tennessee native was a second-round pick of the Reds in 2007. [I1]

In 2017, Cozart made it to the All-Star team, registering 24 home runs, 63 RBIs, and a batting average of .297. [I1] Throughout his career, Cozart played in 839 games, batting .247 with a .300 on-base percentage and a .699 OPS, hitting 87 career home runs and driving in 305 RBIs. [I1]
