Tottenham Hotspur's Heung-min Son to Join Major League Soccer's Los Angeles FC

Heung-min Son, the captain and a true Spurs legend, has announced his decision to leave Tottenham Hotspur after ten years at the club. Son has filed a transfer request for this summer, and an agreement in principle has been reached between Tottenham and Major League Soccer's Los Angeles FC (LAFC) for a record-breaking transfer fee reportedly between $20 million and $27 million.

Son made this decision during the team's preseason tour in his home country of South Korea. The South Korean international, who is considered one of the greatest players to ever play in the Premier League, expressed his admiration for his teammate Son Heung-min, calling him a "fantastic person and player."

Son has scored 173 goals and made 101 assists in 454 games for Tottenham Hotspur. He cited the Europa League win as a significant factor in his decision to leave, but he did not initially reveal his destination. However, rumors about a potential move to the MLS have been circulating for some time.

The decision to leave Tottenham Hotspur was the hardest of Son's career, but he finds it necessary to move to a new environment to continue growing. Despite interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, Son has confirmed his desire for a new challenge in MLS.

At a press conference, Son announced his departure and captained Tottenham in his final game, a pre-season friendly against Newcastle United in South Korea. Tottenham and LAFC are in advanced negotiations regarding the transfer fee, with LAFC keen to finalize the deal. This transfer would make Son the most expensive incoming signing in MLS history, surpassing the $22 million paid previously by Atlanta United.

Tottenham Hotspur has announced that they will not stand in Son's way after ten years together and over 450 games. Son has many great memories from his time at Tottenham Hotspur, and he leaves the club with the utmost respect and gratitude.

As Son embarks on a new chapter in his career with LAFC, he will be remembered as one of Tottenham Hotspur's greatest players and a true Spurs legend.
