Former Head of NGCB's Department Challenges Board's Demand to Drop Race Discrimination Lawsuit

In a shocking turn of events, Jaime Black, a gaming industry professional, has filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) board member Brittnie Watkins. The lawsuit, filed in Las Vegas's US District Court in September, alleges that Watkins pressured Black to practice discriminatory hiring practices and fostered a hostile work environment, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

Mark Mausert, Black's attorney, filed a motion in the same court on Thursday, accompanied by a 24-page response arguing there was sufficient evidence to back Black's claims. The motion claims that there is a factual and legal basis for each cause of action in Black's lawsuit.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board submitted a motion to dismiss the lawsuit in October, but the current status of this motion is not clear. The case is currently being presided over by Judge Miranda Du.

The Nevada Attorney General's office, representing the Board, has dubbed Black's claims as baseless. No further comments about the suit or the case have been made by NGCB representatives, according to reports on Tuesday.

It is essential to note that no verifiable public records or credible news reports have documented this specific lawsuit or the mentioned individuals’ involvement in such legal matters. For updated case information, one might consider checking official court records, trusted news outlets, or legal databases.
