Former director of the company imprisoned for poor restoration of facades for the Krasnoyarsk University Games
In the city of Krasnoyarsk, the owner of "ЭкспоСтроя" was captured by the authorities for deceitful practices, damage, and money laundering, all related to the renovation of buildings prior to the 2019 Winter Universiade. This crafty conman managed to swindle a whopping 46 million rubles, with 15 million rubles suspiciously vanishing, according to the court.
Back in 2018, "ЭкспоСтроя" signed a contract with the regional renovation fund to repair 29 buildings in Krasnoyarsk. However, it seems this company wasn't keen on spending their money wisely, skimping on experienced professionals, high-quality materials, and proper renovation techniques. Instead, they chose to cut corners, resulting in shoddy work that left the buildings' facades in a pathetic state.
The lazy louses at "Экспо Строя" didn't even bother removing old paint before slapping on new stuff, making the layers too thin, and neglecting to use anti-vandal materials. It wasn't long before the paint started peeling off, causing the city to suffer an estimated loss of 46 million rubles.
The dirty deeds of this crooked company didn't go unnoticed. The stinky stench of fraud ultimately led to the owner's downfall. In the courtroom, he was slapped with a six-year sentence in a general-regime prison. Despite the damning evidence against him, he had the audacity to deny any wrongdoing, proclaiming that the work completed was of superior quality.
This case serves as a grim reminder of the potential pitfalls of relying on sketchy contractors, especially when it comes to large-scale projects like the Universiade preparations. But hey, at least we learned who not to call when we need our buildings renovated! 😉
