Former Avangard attacker joins the NHL club

24-year-old Arseniy Gritsyuk, a Russian hockey player, has just signed a one-year deal with the New Jersey Devils as of May 7, 2025, according to the club's official NHL website. This exciting move marks his departure from the KHL, where he's been playing for the past five seasons.

Commencement of his tenure with the Devils is slated for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Gritsyuk, a versatile forward, boasts an impressive track record in the KHL, having played for teams like the Omsk Yastrebs, Avangard, and more recently, SKA St. Petersburg.

In his stint with Avangard, Gritsyuk emerged victorious, pocketing the prestigious Gagarin Cup in the 2020-21 season. However, this year, SKA St. Petersburg failed to advance beyond the 1/8 playoff finals.

Gritsyuk, drafted by the Devils in the 2019 NHL Draft (129th overall), is renowned for his offensive prowess. With his undeniable knack for creating scoring opportunities and his potential as a middle-six scorer, he is likely to bring fresh dynamics to the Devils' roster.

As of now, Gritsyuk remains an untested entity in the NHL. His debut with the Devils will certainly be an event to look forward to for fans seeking a fresh hockey face in the coming season. Keep an eye out for this promising talent!
