Paramount+ Unveils New Crime Drama Series "MobLand" Starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren

London - Streaming platform Paramount+ expands its content offerings to compete with industry giants like Netflix and Disney+. With investments in its own "Star Trek" universe and successful series like "Yellowstone," the service is now launching the star-studded series "MobLand." Famous director Guy Ritchie ("The Gentlemen") lends his talent to the production.

The story follows the London-based Harrigan family crime empire, led by aging patriarch Conrad Harrigan, portrayed by Pierce Brosnan. His cunning wife Maeve, played by Oscar winner Helen Mirren, holds significant influence. Tom Hardy stars as Harry Da Souza, the family's fixer responsible for negotiations, bribes, threats, and violence, all while trying to balance familial responsibilities.

The three-episode German launch of "MobLand - Family till the End" goes live on May 30.

At the Heart of a Bloody Gang War

At the core of the narrative is the Irish Harrigan family and their power struggle in London's criminal underworld, specifically with rival gang boss Richie Stevenson. The fragile peace between the gangs is threatened when Conrad's violent grandson Eddie causes trouble. Eddie's secret meetings with Tommy, Richie's son, lead to retribution demands, putting the family in peril of a brutal gang war.

A Touch of Shakespeare and Guy Ritchie's Style

"MobLand" draws parallels with Shakespearean tragedies, with Pierce Brosnan describing his character as reminiscent of Shakespearean roles. Guy Ritchie, who directed the first two episodes, brings his signature visuals, humor, and quirky characters to the series.

Fast-Paced Plot with Intense Moments

The show features rough language, violence, and dark humor, highlighted by exceptional performances from a diverse cast. German audiences will have access to three episodes, with a new one becoming available every Friday. The series is characterized by its plot twists, character development, and high-stakes drama.

Fans of movies-and-tv and entertainment can now anticipate the new crime drama series "MobLand," streaming on Paramount+, which features celebrities like Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. As the story unfolds in London's criminal underworld amidst a power struggle between the Harrigan family and their rivals, audiences will observe Guy Ritchie's unique touch of humor and visual style, as well as Shakespearean undertones.
